S-Plus 8.0 Single User
For single-user Windows installations, if this is the first time you've installed and run the program, simply start the program and enter your license authorization code when prompted. This will automatically deliver the license, install it, and start the program. NOTE: Automatic activation requires an active internet connection on the installation machine.
For UNIX/Linux or multiple-user Windows installations, please activate your license at the same sites listed below for version 7.0.

For single-user Windows installations, if this is the first time you've installed and run your product, simply start the program and enter your license authorization code when prompted. If you are renewing your license, select Start -> Programs -> [Product] -> Wizard for License Manager.
Enter your new LAC from this email when prompted. This will automatically deliver the license and install it. NOTE: Automatic activation requires an active internet connection on the installation machine.
UNIX/Linux or multiple-user Windows installations
Please activate your license at the site listed on your license.
If fulfilling your license key from the website, place the license key file in the appropriate location. You will also need to delete the old license key file(s) if there are any. The license key location differs by product:
S-PLUS: SHOME\adm\lic\keys where SHOME is your S-PLUS home directory (for example, the default S-PLUS 7.0 directory on Windows is C:\Program Files\Insightful\splus70)
Insightful Miner: IMHOME\keys
where IMHOME is your Insightful Miner home directory (for example, the default Insightful Miner 7 directory on Windows is C:\Program Files\Insightful\Insightful Miner 7.0)
You can open the license key files in a text editor to look at them. Delete the product license key file(s) that contain old dates.
S-Plus 7 Modules
Refer to your license for you serial number and LAC (license authorization code).
Wavelets (Unix/Linux): Follow installation process. On-line documentation can be found in the module/wavelet directory of the S-Plus 7 installation tree.
After installation, you can activate your module at the S-Plus command line with command
module (wavelets, first=T)
Spatial Stats (Unix/Linux): Follow installation process. On-line documentation can be found in the module/spatial directory of the S-Plus 7 installation tree.
After installation, you can activate your module at the S-Plus command line with command
module (spatial, first=T)
FinMetrics 3.0 for Windows:
You'll need to first uninstall your previous version of FinMetrics (Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs), then install the newer version from the CD. There are no serial number or registration code requirements.
FinMetrics (Unix/Linux): Follow installation process. After installation, you can activate your module at the S-Plus command line with command
module(finmetrics, first=T)
EnvironmentalStats (Windows): Before using this module, you must install this LAC by launching the License Manager Wizard: Start>All Programs>S-Plus 7.0>Wizard for License Manager. After installing your module, start S-Plus with Start>All Programs>S-Plus 7.0>S-Plus 7.0. Activate your module from the S-Plus menu bar by clicking File>Load Module, and then selecting envstats for the Load Module dialog box.

Insightful Miner
Requesting and installing a license key for Insightful Miner
To request a license key, start the Insightful License Manager using one of the following methods:

From the Start menu, choose Programs > Insightful Miner > Insightful License Manager

When launching I-Miner, click the Enter License Key button in the reminder prompt window.
In the Insightful License Manager, click Copy to clipboard to copy your host/server name, host/server code, and serial number to the windows clipboard. Paste this information into a new email message and sent it to both the email addresses listed below.

All Insightful Miner license key requests from the University must copy Tracey Schmidt when sending to the S+ license key address listed able. The Insightful license key department will not issue a license key directly to a student unless Tracey Schmidt is copied.
When you receive you license key from Insightful, start the Insightful License Manager as outlined able, paste it into the License key text box in STEP 2, and then click the Install license key button in STEP 3. The License status field will be updated automatically. Click Exit to close the Insightful License Manager.
Versions Prior to Version 7.0, For the S-Plus Network Edition, a license key is required for each version.
Please complete the required information for items #1 through #6 for each separate server which requires an updated license key, and send via email to: tracey-schmidt@uiowa.edu.

You can obtain the server code and name by running the S-Plus License Key Setup Wizard ($SHOME\msftelm\LkeyWiz.exe).

Please indicate if you require license keys for the Splus Modules (& which ones). The hostinfo output for the modules will be the same as the host info for the Splus license that it will run with.
