If you have accidentally deleted a survey or you have removed a survey that you no longer needed, you have the ability to restore a copy of the survey from your local machine to the WebSurveyor account. In order to restore your survey, you will need the WebSurveyor Desktop Client. If you do not have a copy of this client, you can obtain one by following the instructions here.
Macintosh and Linux Users
Unfortunately, WebSurveyor does not have a desktop client for Macintosh or Linux workstations. If you have saved a coy of your survey to your workstation you can copy the file to a PC, change the file extension to .wsx and follow the instructions below.
Note: In order to restore your survey, you MUST have a local copy of the survey. For information on how to download your survey from the server, please click here.
Restoring Your Survey
- Open the WebSurveyor Desktop Client.
- Select File | Open, and browse to the survey on your local workstation.
- Open the survey in the WebSurveyor Desktop Client.
- Select File | Save As from the menu bar and the following window will be displayed:
- Select "Create a new survey based on this survey" and click OK.
- Browse to the location you wish to save your survey to, and click Save. Your survey is now ready to be published.
- Click on the Publish Survey link on the left, and name your survey in the appropriate field.
- Click Publish Now to publish your survey. You will now receive notification that your survey has been published.
