Click OK
Record Voice Narration in your Presentation
You can record narration in your presentation for distribution to others or for reviewing later.
Download a zipped copy of the PowerPoint presentation to run on your computer (750 kb)
Download the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer for free if you do not have Powerpoint on your computer.
View Presentations with Audio online (7MB - large files - requires IE 4.0 or Netscapre 4.0 or newer)
Remove personal information from a presentation
You can permanently remove personal information from a presentation to avoid unintentionally distributing the information to others. Do this only when you are certain that you will not need the information again. The information removed includes any text assigned to the Author, Manager and Company presentation properties. Also, your actual name is removed from all macros and comments and is replaced with the word Author.
-
On the Tools menu, scroll to Options, and then click the Security tab.
-
Under Privacy options, select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box.
-
Click OK, and then save your presentation.
Improve slide show performance
If your presentation seems to be running slowly, try one or more of the following:
Reduce the resolution for the slide show presentation display.
Choose the Slide Show menu - click Set Up Show.
In the Slide show resolution box, click 640x480 in the list.
Note: Changing resolution may cause the slide image to be slightly shifted. If this happens, either choose a different resolution or click Use Current Resolution.
Set the color depth to 16 bit for optimal performance.
Choose the Windows Start menu - Settings - click Control Panel.
Double-click Display, and then click the Settings tab.
Under Colors, click High Color (16 bit) in the list, and then click OK.
Use hardware graphics acceleration.
From the Slide Show menu - click Set Up Show, and then select the Use hardware graphics acceleration check box. If your computer has this capability, Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 will attempt to use it. Note: If you notice performance problems with the slide show after you change this setting, turn off the option. Your computer may not have this capability.
Animations.
-
Reduce the size of pictures and text that are animated. Click the picture or text placeholder, and drag the sizing handles to reduce the size of the object.
-
Don't use animations that include fading, rotating, or scaling. Replace these effects with other animations.
-
Try not to use large gradients or transparent objects. Instead, choose solid color fills.
-
Reduce the number of simultaneous animations. Try changing the simultaneous animations to sequential animations.
-
Reduce the number of by-letter and by-word animations. For example, use these only for the title of a slide, instead of applying them to every bullet.
-
Animation performance will be much better with a video card that has Microsoft Direct 3D. (Direct 3D is a component of Microsoft DirectX, which is a set of advanced multimedia system services built into the Microsoft Windows operating system.) Many video card manufacturers take advantage of this technology; check with the documentation you received with your computer to find out if Direct 3D is supported.
