Importing Excel into FileMaker

Start FileMaker.

Choose ' Open Existing File'.

Pull down the file type menu and choose ' Excel', highlight your excel file, and click 'Open'.

Tell FileMaker Pro which sheet of the spreadsheet you want if it asks.

Then A dialog box will appear asking you whether to use the first row for field names or data. Make your choice and click OK.

In the Save dialog box give the new FileMaker Pro database a name and save it where you want it.

OR

Create a shortcut for FileMaker Pro on your desktop.

Find the folder with your excel spreadsheet. Right Click and Copy the Excel file.

Switch back to your desktop and Right Click on the FileMaker Pro shortcut. Select Paste from the Pop-up menu.

Tell FileMaker Pro which sheet of the spreadsheet you want if it asks.
