Syncing Your Pocket PC PDA with Outlook
If you have not yet installed an Outlook client on your Desktop, install Outlook 2003. Your Pocket PC ships with a CD which includes ActiveSync, the software necessary to sync information between your Pocket PC and Outlook. You can sync your Outlook Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes, as well as IE Favorites, AvantGo information, and Word and Excel files.

Install Microsoft ActiveSync 3.5.

Connect the cradle or sync cable to your Desktop.

On the "New Partnership" screen, choose Standard partnership.

Click Next.

On the "Specify how to synchronize data" screen, select Synchronize with this desktop computer.

Click Next.

On the "Select Number of Partnerships" screen, select Yes, I want to synchronize with only this computer.

Click Next.

On the "Select Synchronization Settings" screen, select the type of information you wish to sync (e.g., Calendar, Contacts, Favorites, Inbox, etc.)

Click Next.

Click Finish on the "Setup Complete" screen.

Sync your Pocket PC with the information you have selected.
If you have trouble getting your Calendar data to sync, verify that you do not have "Enable synchronization with a server" selected.

Open ActiveSync.

Click Options.

On the "Sync Options" tab, uncheck "Enable synchronization with a server" in the Server field.

Then you can select Calendar in the Desktop field and sync your calendar.
