Configuring Outlook Express To Use LDAP
  1. Choose Tools | Accounts.

  2. Select the Directory Service tab.
  3. Select the Add button.
  4. Select 'Directory Service' from the dropdown menu.
  5. On the Internet Directory Server Name screen in the Internet directory [LDAP] server: field, type: White Pages University of Iowa
  6. Click the Next button.
  7. On the 'The specified LDAP server does not appear to be a valid server name, do you want to use it anyway?' screen, click the Yes button.
  8. On the 'Check E-mail Addresses' screen click the Next button
  9. On the 'Congratulations' screen click the Finish button.
  10. On the Internet Accounts screen, double-click the White Pages University of Iowa screen
  11. Click on the General tab.
  12. In the 'Server name' field type: directory.uiowa.edu
  13. Click the Advanced tab.
  14. In the 'Search base:' field type: ou=people,dc=metadirectory,dc=iowa,dc=uiowa,dc=edu
  15. Click the Apply button.
  16. Click the OK button.
  17. Click the Close button.
Searching with LDAP
  1. Choose Tools | Address Book
  2. Click the Find People button.

  3. Select 'White Pages University of Iowa' from the pull-down menu.
  4. Click the 'Advanced' tab.
  5. Type your search criteria in the 'Define Criteria' fields and click the Find Now button.

Validate
