Configuring Outlook 2003 To Use LDAP- Choose Tools | E-mail Accounts.
- Click the Add a new directory or address books button.

- Click the Next button.
- Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP).

- Click the Next button.

- On the "Directory Service (LDAP) Settings " screen, fill in the following fields:
- Server Name: directory.uiowa.edu
- Click on More Settings button.

- Click the OK button.
- Click on the Search tab.
- In the Search Base field type: ou=people,dc=metadirectory,dc=iowa,dc=uiowa,dc=edu
- Click the Apply button.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Finish button.
NOTE: You will need to Exit and then restart Microsoft Outlook.
- Choose Tools | Address Book.
- Choose directory.uiowa.edu from the 'Show Name from the drop-down menu.
- Choose Tools | Find.
- Enter your search criteria.
- Click the OK button.
NOTE: In Outlook 2003 you will get an error because you're limited on the number of results returned from a query (e.g., it can't present the entire directory in the interface all at once. Close the error box and then use Tools/Find from the window and it will work.
