LDAP Directory Queries
NOTE: LDAP queries to directory.uiowa.edu. are currently not being allowed from off-campus.
Most major e-mail programs now allow LDAP Directory queries.
Who can you find in this directory? You will find public directory information published for people — active faculty, staff, students, retirees, and affiliates such as employees of the UI Foundation. The LDAP white pages also include special departmental and program addresses.
General configuration information:
- Server hostname: directory.uiowa.edu
- Port: 389 (default LDAP port)
- Search Base: ou=people,dc=metadirectory,dc=iowa,dc=uiowa,dc=edu

Windows (Win95/98/NT/2000) has an address book that can be configured to search on an LDAP directory.
