Setting Attributes in Eudora's LDAP Directory Services

By default, when you look someone up in Eudora's Directory Services, the query returns several redundant attributes. You can customize the query to return only the information you are interested in.

  1. Select Tools | Directory Services.

  2. In the Databases window, highlight White Pages University of Iowa and then click the Modify button.

  3. Click the Attributes tab.

  4. Click the Add button.

  5. Add Attribute

  6. Enter the "Attribute Name" that you want to display.

  7. Enter a descriptive name in the "Presented As" field (or select a name from the drop-down list) and click OK.
    Note: In order to display the "Name", "Email", and "Phone" information in the query window, you need to select "Name", "Email(w)", and "Phone(w)" from the drop-down list.

  8. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you have added all attributes that you want to display.

  9. Click the Return listed attributes only box.
    Note: Only the attributes that you have specified will be displayed when you submit a query.

  10. Click OK to save the attribute changes for White Pages University of Iowa.

  11. Enter a name in the Query field to return information about that person. The above list of attributes will return the following information:
