ITS Assistive Technology Support Workstations in ITCs
Assistive Technology Services maintains nine Assistive Technology workstations for use in the university's Instructional Technology Centers. For a map of all facilities and a guide to their equipment and hours, please visit the ITC web page.
About the Machines
All Assistive Technology Machines in ITCs are built around the following equipment:
- Dell Optiplex GX260 Chassis
- Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz Processor
- 512 MB RAM
- 40x12x52 CD-R Drive
- 2x1x8x32 DVD-RAM Drive
- Iomega ZIP-250 Drive
- 19" Dell Flat Panel Display with Ergopro monitor Arm.
- Canon CanoScan LiDE 60
In addition to the standard ITC Software load and DVD burning software, all AT machines feature the following Assistive Technology Software:
- Zoomtext by AISquared (Screen Magnifier & Reader)
- Jaws by Freedom Scientific (Screen Reader)
- Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred by Scansoft (Voice Recognition Software)
- Openbook by Freedom Scientific (Scan and Read software - vision)
- Wynn by Freedom Scientic (Scan and Read software - learning & cognitive disabilities)
Additionally, the Burge and Education ITCs feature:
- Braille Printers
